Four Lines on a Slip — Kai Signs the Hawaii Flat Before Lunch

Zero card on file, zero broker hand-off, zero auto-redial week

Your four lines drop onto the Matson cut-off clipboard at the Wakea Avenue container office; from there Nalani matches them against Wednesday and Friday Pasha sailings, Marisol checks the silica-pad and hurricane-prep box stock, and Kai personally inks the binding Hawaii figure before any slot is held in your name — no card kept on file, no broker email loop, no auto-redial Tuesday.

Privacy Policy

About this notice

This privacy policy describes how We Move People (operating from 270 Wakea Avenue, Suite B, Kahului, HI 96732, registered with the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission and ICC-licensed for interstate marine container shipping) collects, uses and protects information you give us through this website, by phone, by email, or in person during a walk-through or move-day. It applies to the wemovepeoplehawaii.com website and to the household-goods and marine container shipping services we operate out of Kahului, Maui. Hawaii state law and Maui County jurisdiction govern this policy.

What we collect

When you fill out the quote form, call the WMP desk, email Kai, or meet Tyler for an in-home walk-through, we collect: your name, your origin and destination addresses, the bedroom count and inventory description of the property, your phone number and email, your move-day window, and any access notes you tell us (HOA contacts, elevator slots, Lahaina access permits, gate codes). For mainland Pacific moves we also collect the receiving address at the West Coast port destination and the partner-crew handoff details. For inter-island moves we collect the destination harbor and the receiving property contact.

When you sign a binding flat figure, we add payment information (card or ACH details), the deposit transaction record, and the signed estimate document to your file. When the Matson or Pasha container is booked, the carrier’s bill-of-lading number and container number become part of your file. When move-day completes, the final invoice, the released-value declaration, and any signed delivery acknowledgment are added.

The website uses standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and a single first-party analytics cookie that helps us see which pages are getting read. We do not run third-party ad pixels or behavioral tracking on this site.

Why we collect it

To write you a binding flat figure, to book the Matson or Pasha sail in your name, to coordinate the West Coast partner crew on a mainland Pacific shipment, to handle the Wailea or Kihei HOA certificate of insurance paperwork, to send you the container number and the tracking once the barge sails, to process payment, to file any Matson or Pasha container claim under the federal nine-month window, and to keep the regulatory records the Hawaii PUC and USDOT require us to keep.

Who we share it with

The Matson or Pasha carrier on the sail your container is booked on (bill-of-lading details). The West Coast partner crew receiving the mainland container (delivery address and contact). Your destination HOA or property management on inter-island runs (certificate of insurance and access details). Our payment processor (ACH or card transactions). The Hawaii PUC or USDOT on the rare regulatory inquiry. We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone for marketing.

How we protect it

The website runs over HTTPS. Customer files sit on a US-hosted business server with role-based access (Kai, Nalani, Tyler, Marisol). Payment processing runs through a PCI-compliant gateway; we do not store full card numbers on our systems. Paper files at the Wakea Avenue office sit in a locked cabinet. Files are retained for seven years after the last service date, then shredded or deleted per Hawaii state recordkeeping rules.

Container claims and your data

If you file a damage claim against a Matson or Pasha container shipment, we share your shipment file with the carrier’s claims department to support the claim. The federal nine-month window applies. Marisol handles the claims paperwork from our side and keeps you copied on every carrier communication.

Your rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold on you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete anything outside the regulatory retention window, or opt out of any non-essential marketing email by replying “remove” to any message from us. Email Kai at [email protected] or write to We Move People, 270 Wakea Avenue Suite B, Kahului HI 96732. Hawaii residents have additional rights under Hawaii state privacy statutes; we honor every request within thirty days.

Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the bottom of this page and post the change on the home page for thirty days. Last updated June 2026.

Once your slip lands on the Wakea Avenue board, Kai Akamai phones the kitchen table back — lanai to lanai, koa cabinet to koa cabinet — and walks the inventory with you out loud.

The binding Hawaii flat is keyed against the Matson and Pasha sailing sheets at the Wakea Avenue counter, initialed by Kai on We Move People letterhead, and back in your inbox before Tyler closes the office for sunset. One desk owns the quote start to finish — no broker lane, no after-hours national queue — and if Saturday comes and you have not booked, nobody on Wakea Avenue dials you a second time. The only follow-up is the one you ask Nalani for.
